AIHE has four directors and four renowned Australian sonologists. The Directors' motivation for establishing AIHE was to establish a sonographer education model that produces skilled and competent sonographers who become a part of the medical imaging team in general imaging and/or specialist imaging practices with full ASAR accreditation on completion of their studies.
Under the guidance of the leadership team, AIHE students will have access to multiple ultrasound machines, the clinical and sonographic experiences of highly skilled sonographers to guide them on protocols and image optimisation as well as direct access to the Medical Directors' experiences across the entire spectrum of imaging modalities. Students will also have interactive sessions with the Medical Directors to discuss real case study scenarios and how ultrasound imaging fits into the realm of patient management.
To complement the Graduate Diploma of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound (general imaging) students, the Medical Directors also provide clinician and sonographer short courses for those wanting to commence, extend or refresh their knowledge in ultrasound imaging.
